Motor Yachts are the latest trend on waters worldwide. No matter if you are travelling as a group or with just two people – a motor yacht means easy and effortless exploring at sea. One thing all boat owners wish for is comfort and quality for their home on the sea. This ties in with the philosophy of Dutch yacht manufacturer Linssen Yachts from Maasbracht.

Founded in 1949, the family-run company is internationally acclaimed for its high quality motor yachts. From fabricating the steel shell of the boat to finishing the elaborate interior fittings – highly skilled tradesmen work in their expansive yard. Steel workers, painters, carpenters, ship builders, electricians and engineers all show visitors examples of their special trade. They are understandably proud of the more than 70 yachts of different sizes and designs that leave the yard every year.

Another indication of high-quality of Linssen Yachts is the export rate. 40 to 50 percent of the ships are sold to German clients. Additional boats go to France, Switzerland, Belgium or Luxembourg among other nations. “The excellent reputation of our product is primarily due to our exceptionally high quality standards”, explains Ed Houben, Sales Director at Linssen Yachts.

High-Class Interior Fittings

It’s not only the skilled workmanship that counts for the interior design of the yachts but also the choice of materials used. This is why Linssen uses two key materials for their state-of-the-art products: Wood and Corian® high-tech solid surface. People who spend many days on the sea do not want to forgo comfort. They also want to do their own cooking occasionally. Linssen uses Corian® for all the kitchen and bathrooms of almost all their yachts.

The customized sheets are supplied by Corian® Network Partner Hollweg from Papenburg in Germany. They are experts in the interior fittings of ships and boats of all sizes. Based upon detailed CAD-designs, worktops for kitchens and bathroom vanities as well as complete shower trays are fabricated in Papenburg and then delivered to Maasbracht. “It is our priority to ensure a very high degree of completion”, explains Markus Kalvelage, responsible for the marine department at Hollweg. “This is why all sinks are pre-mounted in Germany before they are delivered to The Netherlands”.

Even when installed in limited space, Corian® generates an elegant and appealing kitchen environment with a sensational look and outstanding functionality. Since Corian® can be easily shaped and carved, there are a wide variety of stylish edge details available. They range from simple straight edges to bevel, receding or extra thick edges. In an application where attention to detail is eminent, Corian® creates a truly bespoke look including coved upstands, stainless steel hob bars and drainer grooves.

The Corian® sink can be fitted seamlessly into the countertop equally made of Corian®, forming a single unit with a beautifull smooth finish and no place for dirt to hide. The non-porous, stain-resistant, durable and renewable material can be easily cleaned and maintained and is a pleasure to use. Any damage, including severe impact, can usually be repaired on site to restore the integrity of the original smooth, hygienic and solid surface.

Colour Competence

Ed Houben highlightsy an additional advantage in the new, dark colours produced with the innovative DeepColour Technology invented by Corian®. Before, dark colours weren’t necessarily recommended in highly frequented areas like the kitchen. Here, the dark colours manufactured with the DeepColour Technology are an excellent alternative as they open up new fields of application. The innovative manufacturing solution offers deeper, more intense and durable colour, improved wear performance and easier thermoforming, seaming and finishing. This allows for a contemporary interior design, a perfect choice for the modern yachts manufactured at Linssen.

Therefore, high-tech material Corian® substantially adds to the quality and value of the original Linssen Yacht. The residual value is long-lasting: Even after ten years, a Linssen motor yacht still has 70 to 80 percent of its original value.
